Generations United: A Mother-Daughter Duo at Sunnyland Farms
Gay Lasseter is Sunnyland Farms’ Office Manager. Her Sunnyland story began in September 1980, and this fall, she will celebrate an incredible 45 years with the company. Beyond managing office operations, Gay oversees seasonal workers, creates nutrition labels, handles billing, and contributes to catalogs—the cornerstone of Sunnyland’s mail-order business.
Tiffany Little, Gay’s daughter, followed a unique path to join the Sunnyland team. Tiffany oversees wholesale orders, corporate gifting, and the company’s additional holdings. She began her journey at Sunnyland in the spring of 2022. In addition to her office work, she was actively involved on the ground at Sunnyland's retail store in Pigeon Forge, TN.
Sunnyland Farms has played a pivotal role in the lives of both women. While Gay’s professional roots took hold at Sunnyland, Tiffany grew up immersed in its world. She fondly recalls days spent in the original office building, playing games at the annual Family Day, and adoring the late Jane Willson’s beloved office dogs.
For Tiffany, the original Sunnyland office holds a special place in her heart. “That office had so many different memories, memories and little twists and turns,” she reminisces with nostalgia.
For much of her life, Tiffany never envisioned joining her mother’s legacy at Sunnyland Farms. Her career led her far from pecan country to North Georgia, where Sunnyland remained a cherished piece of childhood memories and her mother’s beloved workplace—or so she thought.
“It was just good timing,” Tiffany reflects.
When she moved back to Albany, Tiffany’s career experience and personal history with the farm made joining Sunnyland a natural choice.
Gay and Tiffany agree on one thing: “We don’t argue for the majority.” While their work conversations occasionally spill into family time, both agree it’s a small price to pay for loving what they do.
