Fudge, like many candy recipes, is a holiday classic. Unfortunately, making a yummy, creamy fudge the old-fashioned way can often be temperamental. This fabulous fudge recipe takes a brilliant shortcut, using white chocolate chips as its base. The maple flavor and best-in-class Sunnyland Pecans come together to form a rich, creamy fudge that will leave your taste buds wanting one more piece!

FAQs about Maple Pecan Fudge

Do I need to use a candy thermometer for this fudge recipe?

No need for a candy thermometer in this delicious recipe for Maple Pecan Fudge, full of crunchy pecans from Sunnyland Farms. The process has been simplified to ensure you get that perfect creamy texture without the need for temperature monitoring.

Can I use maple syrup in place of the maple flavoring?

No. To ensure the fudge stays firm at room temperature, this recipe only uses a small amount of maple extract, which is much more concentrated in rich maple flavor than syrup would be.

If I don't have a square baking pan, is there another size dish I can make this in?

Yes. Use a loaf pan. The shape of the "slices" will likely remind you of fudge from your favorite sweet shop.

How long does fudge last in the fridge?

If stored properly, fudge should last up to 1 month in the refrigerator. The high sugar content helps ensure food safety for an extended period of time. The main concern would be a deterioration of the quality of the fudge, especially if exposed to refrigerator air (which could impart an "off" flavor and/or cause the fudge to dry out.)

Can I put the fudge in the freezer to set more quickly?

Yes. But be sure to check it fairly frequently as you don't want the fudge to freeze.

  • 1 1/2 tsp. maple extract
  • 1 cup Sunnyland pecans, coarsely chopped (or buy our large or small pecan pieces that come in the perfect size)
  1. Line an 8- x 8-inch pan or dish with parchment paper, leaving a 1-inch overhang on at least 2 sides; set aside.
  2. Stir together white chocolate chips, brown sugar, and sweetened condensed milk in a large microwave-safe bowl.
