Sunnyland Thanksgiving Stuffing

Sunnyland Thanksgiving Stuffing

Makes: 8-12 servings
Cook time: 20-25 minutes
  • ½ cup chopped Sunnyland Dried Apricots
  • ½ cup chopped Sunnyland Dried Pears
  • 1 cup chopped Honey Kissed Sunnyland Candied Pecans
  • 1 tablespoon Sunnyland Gallberry Honey
  • 12 ounces link sausage chopped bite size pieces
  • I cup chopped sweet onion
  • I cup chopped carrots
  • 3 chopped green apples
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 tablespoon diced fresh sage
  • ½ teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon worcestshire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
  • 1 large 14 oz bag Herb Stuffing Mix
  • 1 – 2 cups Chicken Stock

Directions:

  1. Sautee sliced sausage and season with salt pepper.
  2. Once sausage is browned then drain off fat in colander.
  3. Using same sausage pan saute the onions, carrots and green apples.
  4. . Season well with salt and cracked pepper.
  5. Add rest of seasoning ingredients including chopped fresh sage.
  6. Once vegetables are reduced and translucent add one cup of chicken stock along with drained sausage, dried Sunnyland Pears, Apricots and Honey Kissed Pecans.
  7. Using a large casserole dish, add dried stuffing mix evenly along bottom then add remaining 1 cup of chicken stock.
  8. Add prepared mixture of vegetables, fruit and sausage.
  9. Mix well in casserole dish and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.
  10. After baking – garnish with Chopped Sunnyland Pecans, Apricots and Dried Pears.

The sliced sausage, honey kissed pecans, Sunnyland dried fruits and green apples really make this stuffing over the top and special. Add more chicken stock if stuffing looks a bit dry. Recipe from Staci Willson.
