16 whole small white onions, peeled
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
2 Tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups milk
1/4 cup whole Sunnyland Toasted/Salted
Virginia Peanuts
1/4 cup Sunnyland Toasted/Salted
Virginia Peanuts, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup buttered bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 400°. Grease 1 quart casserole dish. Cook onions in boiling water until tender; drain and put into casserole. Melt butter over medium heat; slowly stir in flour and salt. Slowly stir in milk; cook, stirring continuously, until smooth and slightly thickened. Pour this sauce over onions. Stir in 1/4 cup peanuts. Top with buttered crumbs. Bake 15 minutes or until casserole is bubbly and lightly browned. Yield: 5 servings.
