JUICY APPLE CRISP
This old-time favorite becomes a brand new classic with the addition of maca-damias. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 lbs. Granny Smith apples, peeled,
cored and thinly sliced
Preheat oven to 350°. Generously butter a 9”x9” baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour and cinnamon. Stir with a fork until blended. Add apples and toss to coat. Pour into prepared pan.
Topping
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
5 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
6 Tbsp. cold butter
3/4 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup Sunnyland Macadamia Pieces,
finely chopped
In a bowl, stir together brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cut in butter just until crumbly. Stir in oatmeal and macadamias. Spread topping over apples, making sure the edges are covered. Bake 40-45 min., or until apples are tender. Serves 6.
