FIG-NUT BUTTERBALLS
1/2 cup butter, softened   1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg, separated                1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sifted flour                   1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 cup Sunnyland English Walnuts,
  finely chopped
6 or 7 Sunnyland Figs, quartered
 Mix butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt. Roll into 1” balls. Dip in slightly beaten egg white, then      in nuts. Place on baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 5 min. Remove from oven.
 Quickly press thumb gently on top of each cookie; place a piece of fig in center of each. Return to oven, bake 8 min. longer. Makes 24 cookies. (Substitute dates for figs and pecans for walnuts if you wish
