ORANGE SLICE CAKE
3/4 cup shortening
2 cups sugar 2 eggs, beaten
3 cups flour, divided 1 1/8 tsp. soda
1 tsp. each allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon
& cloves
2 cups cooked dried apples (unsweetened)
1 cup Sunnyland Small Pecan Pieces
2 cups Sunnyland Raisins
20 candy orange slices (cut into thin pcs.)
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Sift dry ingredients, reserving 1/2 cup flour. Add dry ingredients alternately with cooked dried apples to first mixture.
Dredge nuts, raisins and candy with remaining flour; add to batter. Cook in greased tube pan 10 min. at 350°.
Reduce temperature to 300°; continue cooking about 1 hour, or until done.
